The 10-Point Safeguarding Standard
Our safeguarding standards meet and exceed international educational guidelines for remote tutoring in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.
Comprehensive Identity & Background Checks
Every prospective mentor must pass government-issued identity verification, criminal background checks (equivalent to UK DBS / US FBI fingerprint clearances), and professional reference verifications before their first lesson.
Strict 1-on-1 Secure Video Classrooms
Classes take place solely inside password-protected, encrypted virtual classrooms (Zoom or Google Meet Enterprise). Links are uniquely generated for each family and never shared publicly.
Zero Unmonitored Private Messaging
Mentors are strictly forbidden from communicating with minors through personal channels, social media, WhatsApp, Discord, or gaming tags. All platform communications go through registered parent channels.
Open-Door Parent Join-In Policy
Parents maintain an absolute right to attend, observe, or listen in on any session at any time without notice. We encourage parents of younger students (ages 5-9) to join the first discovery session.
Random Quality Audits & Session Logging
Our Academic Safeguarding Officer conducts routine unannounced quality spot-checks and reviews session logs to ensure professional, encouraging, and pedagogically sound mentor conduct.
COPPA & GDPR-K Data Privacy Compliance
We collect only the bare minimum data necessary to deliver education. Student accounts are anonymized where possible. We never monetize, sell, or advertise against children’s data under any circumstances.
Child-Centric Mentor Training & Code of Ethics
Every tutor undergoes specialized onboarding on positive reinforcement, age-appropriate language, neurodiverse learner empathy, screen ergonomics, and boundary management.
Zero Tolerance Harassment & Instant Escalation
We enforce a zero-tolerance policy regarding disrespectful, intimidating, or inappropriate behavior. Any concern triggers immediate tutor suspension pending administrative review.
Safe Web Browsing & Code Sandbox Sandboxing
Students write code within curated, sandboxed cloud IDEs (Replit, Scratch, Visual Studio Code Live Share). We eliminate exposure to unsafe third-party web downloads or unmoderated chat servers.

Parents have direct access to our Safeguarding Lead at safeguarding@stemuluskidstech.com. All inquiries or feedback receive a response within 4 hours.

Can I sit in on my child's coding sessions?
Yes, absolutely. Parents are welcome to sit beside their child, join the video call, or listen in at any time. We encourage full visibility into every session.
How do you handle session recordings?
Recordings are maintained exclusively for internal safeguarding audit purposes and optional parent review upon request. They are stored on encrypted cloud servers and never made public.
What happens if my child feels uncomfortable with a mentor?
Your child's comfort and happiness are paramount. If at any point your child would prefer a different teaching style or personality, we will rematch them immediately with zero hesitation.
